The purpose of these tests is to find out if a child has trouble communicating and, if so, what specific areas need to be worked on. This evaluation involves assessing a child's ability to use language to communicate, like producing words, phrases, and sentences, and engaging in conversations. We look at how well a child can use grammar and syntax, make different kinds of sentences, and use words that are right for their age and level of development.
We will also consider the child's nonverbal communication abilities, such as body language and facial expressions, as well as their social communication skills, including turn-taking and topic maintenance in conversations.
After completing these evaluations, we will provide a detailed report of the child's strengths and weaknesses in communication and make recommendations for intervention, which may include speech therapy or other types of language interventions. The goal of these evaluations is to help children improve their communication skills and achieve their full potential in academic, social, and personal settings.
